EZ Dresden Challenge

The Salt Lake Modern Quilt Guild is excited to announce we have partnered with EZ Quilting/Simplicity and a host of other manufacturers to celebrate Darlene Zimmerman’s 20th Anniversary designing quilting tools for EZ Quilting. To help them celebrate we are hosting a challenge — Use the EZ Dresden Ruler to create a project, then enter it to win amazing prizes from our sponsors!

Categories
Small/Mini Quilts: maximum side length of 24″
Traditional: 50″ minimum on one side – using a traditional Dresden plate format
Innovative: 50″ minimum on one side – use your traditional ruler to create an unusual design

You don’t need to use Darlene’s EZ Dresden ruler to enter, but we’d sure like it if you did! Any 18° wedge will do. Come back here from September 1-6 to link up your projects. You can enter up to three times, one project in each category, any project you have started this year.

We have some amazing sponsors who have donated prizes. Our judges will pick their five favorites in each category, then decide as a team the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners (one from each category).

I am interested in joining in the fun! How do I join? I tried the ‘login’ and apparently I’m not registered.

    • admin says:

The Challenge is open to everyone, but the link up won’t open until September 1st. The login is just for members of the Salt Lake Modern Quilt Guild to access the forum. So glad you’re interested in joining the challenge!

      • Karen says:

I will have a quilt to submit for the challenge, but I am not sure what types of pictures would be needed. The reason I am asking, I will be leaving for vacation on August 24th and will not return until September 7th. I would need to take the pictures before I leave and enter the challenge during the appointed time. Thank you for your time.

All of the blog posts and tutorials were such an inspiration, I already made a quilt! However I made it for a baby, 36″ square, and only just realized that the limits for the “small” size is 24″? Is there a reason for the gap in the size?
