We Have Winners!
September 16, 2012 in Uncategorized
The judges have spoken!! They spent last week agonizing over your outstanding quilt entries. The general consensus I received from each of them was “This was TOUGH!” There were so many beautiful quilts and I personally was so impressed with the variety of ways this ruler can be used.
Thanks to each of you for entering and making our EZ Dresden Quilt Challenge a success. We had almost 70 entries, some even from overseas. I’ll be contacting the winners this week to get your mailing addresses.
And now for the Judge’s selections (drum roll please):
Grand Prize(1stPlace): Jenny Cameron (Innovative)

2ndPlace: Joanna from Shape Moth (Innovative)
3rdPlace: Lee from Freshly Pieced (Mini)
Judges’ Choice
Each judge picked a quilt or two that they felt deserved recognition.
PRIZES: Two improvisational piecing books– Quilting Modern by Jacquie Gering (currently being reprinted) and 15 Minutes of Play by Victoria Findlay Wolfe (Available in November) PLUS an EZ Dresden Quilting Ruler.
Random Drawings (one from each category)

Wow – I’m not sure how to thank SLMQG, The Sponsers, The Judges and The Fellow Particpants…
There is an amazing amount of work (by all parties) that goes into a competition like this. So a huge congratulations to everyone! It has been a lot of fun seeing how versatile the Dresden Wedge can be and I look forward to adding these lovely prizes to my Sewing Room.
I’m very excited and a little overwhelmed.

Thank you – I bought the fabric in this quilt for a very different design. Am very pleased that I changed my mind about all of those tiny pieces that were in the original plan. This quilt came together quite quickly an I love the result.
