Dresden Variety
June 4, 2012 in Uncategorized
In just the first few days of our blog hop we’ve already seen how versatile the EZ Dresden ruler is! Click on any picture below to be taken to the original post.

Lee showed us how to use the traditional shape and give it a whole new look by fussy-cutting your wedges.

Kati‘s take was to use it to make tumblers for a baby quilt.

Victoria (one of our judges) showed some beautiful examples.

And I think Tanya‘s idea is genius: use the ruler to help you with foundation paper piecing.
Are you feeling inspired yet?

Wow.very inspiring!
Beautiful quilts and all so very different.
I’m feeling inspired, but I have a question….how do you define dresden? It it the petal used to create a traditional Dresden plate block or is it the use of the petals in a circle shape that makes something a Dresden? Just curious.
I am loving this! Fun for me!
I’m VERY inspired – have drafted 3 different ideas for my quilt in the past week. Now I just need to escape the office so I can get to my fabrics at home…come on, 4:30, get here SOON!
All of the “Dresdens” that have been posted are beautiful and wonderfully ceative…not to mention technically skillful. Beautifully envisioned and made they really are inspiring!
